Area Studies
Since 2009, the office of Built Heritage Pty Ltd has undertaken several major area-based heritage studies:
- Balwyn & Balwyn North Heritage Study (for the City of Boroondara, 2012-13)
- City of Whitehorse Post-War Heritage Study (2013-14)
- City of Frankston Post-War Modenrist Heritage Study (2014-15)
The office has also completed several smaller and more localised area
studies, including a survey of modernist houses on the Ranelagh
Estate at Mount Eliza, commissioned by the Mornington Peninsula Shire in 2013.
These
projects draw from many years of experience in the preparation of area
studies. Simon Reeves's employment in the office of AllomxLovell
& Associates in the late 1990s coincided with a period of local
government amalgamation, which necessitated the consolidation and
review of existing municipal heritage studies. During that time,
Simon gained valuable experience in the following projects:
- City of Yarra Heritage Review (1999)
- City of Banyule Heritage Review (1999)
- City of Bayside Heritage Review (1999)
- City of Whitehorse Heritage Review (1999)
- Rural City of Swan Hill Heritage Study: Stage Two (2000)
- Shire of Bass Coast Heritage Study: Stage One (2001)
When subsequently employed in the office of Heritage Alliance, Simon was responsible for the following area studies:
For the City of Moonee Valley:
- City of Moonee Valley Heritage Study: Stage 4 (February 2004)
- Datasheets for Existing Heritage Precincts (September 2004)
- City of Moonee Valley Gap Heritage Study (November 2006) [citations]
- Datasheets for Existing Heritage Precincts (December 2006)
For the City of Port Phillip:
