Registration Hearings by the Heritage Council
Places nominated to the Victorian Heritage Register
can be subject to a Registration Hearing if the
nomination is opposed by a stakeholder such as the building's owner.
A hearing might include submissions and
presentations by representatives of the builder owner, local council
or National Trust. Prior to the establishment of Built Heritage Pty Ltd in 2009, Simon Reeves appeared twice at
Registration Hearings to present expert evidence on behalf of the
National Trust of Australia (Victoria):
- Craig & Seeley Offices, Hope Street, Brunswick (2003)
- The Oakleigh Motel, 1650 Dandenong Road, Oakleigh (2009) - more info here
Since
establishing Built Heritage Pty Ltd, Simon has presented expert
evidence at Registration Hearings pertaining to the following
places:
- Melford Motors Showroom, Elizabeth Street, North Melbourne (2012)
- Dixon Holiday House (The House on the Pole), Fairhaven (2012)
- Total House, Russell Street, Melbourne (2013)
